that i need to go farther than just witnessing the dream-like waking state,
because there is still a dichotomy there and an identity with the witness. now
the experience is bright attention with a slight...like a movie playing on it.
it's all thought, the body, all the appearances.
the self, the reality, doesn't care about the movie. as the witness, i am looking at the movie, but the reality is just completely at peace.
nome: seeing that you are the witness, and not the witnessed, that is very beneficial. especially, as you have just indicated, when you can see that the witness is not just a position taken up in the waking state, but is the witness of the waking state, the dream state, any state of mind including all of it's content. if we pursue that further, that means the witness, which is of the nature of consciousness, is not anything that appears in any state of mind. it is unaltered by the things, including the thoughts, and it is unaltered by the states of mind themselves. it means your nature doesn't correspond to any form in any state of mind, waking, dreaming etcetera. then pursue the inquiry further, strip away from the witness anything that is witnessed. let your vision become nonobjective. enquire, "what is the essence of this witness?" or "who am i?" since the witness is subjective, not objective.
if you feel, "the movie goes on, i stand beyond it", pursue the enquiry, for whom is the movie? who sees it?
if the enquiry is taken up correctly, when you enquire that way,
who sees it?
who am i?
belief in the reality of the movie will vanish. the movie also ceases.

nome: in the self there are no states of mind, there is no creation, no objects, nothing happening.
if you feel like ," yes, but i see this, or i experience this", then the enquiry should be directed into that "i"
because then you have the infinite witnessing consciousness called the witness in relation to all else, in consideration of it, and then there is some "i" .
who is that "i"? clear that matter up by virtue of enquiry.
